You need to increase your sodium and electrolytes by drinking a sports drink prior, during and after the workout. Be sure you are using nutrition that has electrolytes (all gu, gels, beans and sports gummies will). Consider taking electrolyte tablets the morning of and during your long workout when temperatures are more than 65 degrees.

Did you feel really thirsty at the end of the run or walk?

You were dehydrated. Dehydration starts with consumption the day BEFORE a long run. Make a habit of carrying a stainless steel water bottle with you the day before your long workout so you will be drinking plenty of H2O all day. You can’t imagine my excitement when I found Kristin Benton with Happy Hoops and had the opportunity to try this hip, fun workout.  I have been searching high and low for a great hooping fitness class for months and this one proved to be worth the wait!

Three of us made our way to East Nashville to join the Happy Hoops Beginner class and see Kristin in action.  It’s amazing to see the excitement and joy of the students of this class.  Kristin effortlessly creates an environment of pure joy, happiness and camaraderie.  Although it is a serious fitness class designed to teach you the basics of hooping while providing a great cardio workout, the overarching theme of the class is FUN!  Great music that you can’t help but move your hips to, super cool custom-made hula hoops in killer colors & designs and smiles all around the ...
