SPOTLIGHT: Robin Frazier, Owner of Franklin Massage Center

SPOTLIGHT: Robin Frazier, Owner of Franklin Massage Center

No matter where we have gone lately or who we have talked with, it seems one name keeps popping up?  Robin Frazier!

“Do you know Robin Frazier?”

“Have you been to Franklin Massage Center?”

“Have you ever had one of their therapeutic deep tissue massages?”

Seems as though the name Robin Frazier has come up in conversation ten times in the last month or so!  From friends, from business owners, from race events… everyone is talking about Robin.  So, who is this Robin Frazier?!?!?

I was thrilled when Tammy at Fleet Feet offered to make the introduction.  Robin Frazier is the owner of Franklin Massage Center and is “famous” for her amazing massages.  Now, these are not your typical spa-like massages.  Rather these are true therapeutic deep tissue massages designed to help athletes recover and provide relief to areas that may be stressed or causing pain. ACTIVE Profile: “Tri”ing for Our Troops

ACTIVE Profile: “Tri”ing for Our Troops

This is the story of Amy Cotta, an author, trainer, TV personality and most importantly a friend.  I thought I knew about most of Amy’s accomplishments but it wasn't until I sat down with her to ask questions in preparation of this blog that I realized the magnitude of what she’s doing.  We cried together and I've cried writing this.  Amy is changing lives by bringing awareness to our military troops; specifically, our returning soldiers and their families who are coping with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD.  Amy shared with me that we lost 394 soldiers to suicide last year, more than were lost in combat.  It’s a shocking statistic that has touched Amy’s heart and continues to motivate her to keep doing what’s she’s doing.  Here’s her story.  Her son was just 17 years old when she signed him ...

I am originally from Natchitoches, LA--home of the Louisiana meat pie and Steel Magnolias.  My family moved to Franklin, TN in 1988 just as I entered the 9th grade.  Growing up in Louisiana and then Tennessee meant that I ate a lot of good southern and Cajun food.  I grew up always being overweight--normally the heaviest child in each of grades.  As I graduated high school I weighed over 200 lbs and over 300 lbs after college.  I continued to gain weight all through my 20's and early 30's.

Right about the time I turned 35, it was getting close to the time for the adoption of my 8 year old foster daughter to become finalized.  Kody had come into my life about 3 years before and I knew that if I needed to be the mom she deserved then I needed to ...

Our Underground Adventure

What do you think of when you hear the word “caving”?  Spelunking, dark, dreary, dirty, scary, tight spaces, claustrophobic, exploration, unique, exciting, adventure? As we prepared for our first caving trip ever, our expectations ran the gamut of an awesome, unique adventure to downright scary.  The reality of our caving trip blew away all expectations.  In the end, our trip was an exhilarating, once-in-a-lifetime experience that left us wanting more! In our research to find unique, interesting experiences for our members, we found a new company called Cave Now, run by expert caver Philip Rykwalder. You can’t ask for a more knowledgeable, experienced team led by Philip. He has led hundreds of caving expeditions, including working with National Geographic, the Discovery Channel and the History Channel on filming documentaries in caves all over the world.

This past September, dressed in our jeans, t-shirts and hiking boots ...
