Guide to Porchfest 2014






Date: Saturday, June 21st

Time: 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, neighborhood porches throughout the neighborhood will host a variety of musicians.  Lightning 100 will be broadcasting LIVE from Town Center from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and the evening will wrap up with a concert on the lake, starting at 8:00 PM.

Location: Westhaven Subdivision, Corner of Front Street and Westhaven Blvd, Franklin, TN 37064



By most accounts, Porchfest has its roots in Ithaca, New York, where residents of the Fall Creek neighborhood realized that they had an abundance of musicians and front porches. Gretchen Hildreth and Lesley Greene started the festival as a way for their neighbors to showcase their musical talents on ready-made “stages.” The concept is very simple – find musicians to play, and find porches for them to play on. Nashville is gearing up for the many July the Fourth celebrations around the city on Thursday including music, food, races and fireworks.  To help you plan your day, we've prepared a quick guide describing each of the top events around town.  Each one promises to deliver a fantastic time for you and the family. And since we think it's just too hard to choose just one, we recommend hitting them all!  You can kick start your day with a race, then head over to the annual Music City Hot Chicken Festival and Nashville Dancin, and then enjoy the programs and fireworks displays at the Let Freedom Sing event downtown and Franklin on the 4th in downtown Franklin.
