Guide to 4th of July Celebrations

Nashville is gearing up for the many July the Fourth celebrations around the city on Thursday including music, food, races and fireworks.  To help you plan your day, we've prepared a quick guide describing each of the top events around town.  Each one promises to deliver a fantastic time for you and the family. And since we think it's just too hard to choose just one, we recommend hitting them all!  You can kick start your day with a race, then head over to the annual Music City Hot Chicken Festival and Nashville Dancin, and then enjoy the programs and fireworks displays at the Let Freedom Sing event downtown and Franklin on the 4th in downtown Franklin.

10K Training Plan for Beginners

Looking to step it up to a 10K?  Here is one of our favorite simple, yet effective, training plans for a 10K race.  This program works on a 4 or5 day a week training schedule; however, if these days don't fit into your schedule, simply move them around to make it work for you.  If this schedule is too easy, it might be time to get working on a half-marathon plan.  Always remember to listen to your body and take it easy when you are sore.  Extra rest is always a good thing when training for a race.
